With a considerable portion of the Arizona real estate market experiencing steady growth over the last six months, other industries (specifically in and around the Chandler, AZ area). 1. “San Tan Brewing unveils new facility, plans to distribute out of state.'” – Oct. 17, 2013
In a story first reported by the East Valley Tribune, the Chandler brewery not only unveiled a new beer, but also announced plans to expand their flagship location and distribute a handful of their product out of state.
“It was important to us to keep our investment and our money in Chandler,” owner and brew master Anthony Canecchia, said.
2.” Tesla eyeing Arizona for massive new battery plant?” – Nov. 11, 2013
Tesla Motors, the fast-growing and well-renown electric car company based in Palo Alto, CA, made mention recently of the possibility of opening a battery manufacturing facility in the Chandler area.
According to the article by the Silicon Valley Business Journal, Tesla Motors is looking at potentially taking over the old Motorola space in Chnadler but that speculation has yet to be confirmed.
“We do not have any plans that we can share at this time,” said Tesla spokesman Patrick Jones.
3. “Alliance Bank breaks ground on new Chandler facility.” – Nov. 11, 2013
The Phoenix Business Journal reported that the Phoenix-based bank officially broke ground on its 12th location in Chandler, early November. According to the journal, Alliance Bank has plans to open a Flagstaff facility in 2014.
Currently, Alliance Bank is Phoenix’s largest bank with approximately $3.3 billion in assets.
4. “TechShop opens first Arizona location.” – Nov. 11, 2013
The DIY fabrication studio based in San Francisco opened its first location in Chandler, AZ on Nov. 16. The 15,000 square-foot studio is part of Arizona State University’s Innovation Center in downtown Chandler.
“It’s the first of its kind for a university to offer equipment to the public and students, and we could only do it with TechShop as a partner,” Mitzi Montoya, ASU’s vice provost and dean of the College of Technology and Innovation said.
5. “Apple to build new manufacturing plant in Arizona.” – Nov. 4, 2013
FOX10 reported that one of the world’s most valuable and recognizable brands is setting up shop in the Mesa, AZ area. Apple confirmed in early November their plans to build an expansive manufacturing facility in Mesa.
Touted as a formidable rival to the Intel plant located in Chandler, the Apple facility is slated to provide approximately 700 jobs in the first year.
